**Magee Recreation Center Announces Free Youth and Family Programs for 2024-2025**
PITTSBURGH, PA – The Magee Recreation Center has announced its schedule of free programs for youth and families, running through 2025. These programs are designed to provide recreational, educational, and community-building activities at no cost to participants. A brief overview of the programs is below, including dates, times, and how to register.
**KidSMART After-School Program (Grades 3-5)**
Starting October 7, 2024, and running through May 23, 2025, the KidSMART After-School Program will operate Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. This program offers STEAM-based enrichment activities, recreational games, 30 minutes of homework help, and snacks or dinner. It is provided in conjunction with Greenfield Elementary School for students in grades 3 to 5. Registration is required to join.
**Tiny Tots Program (Ages 5 & Under)**
For children aged 5 and under, the Tiny Tots program takes place every Thursday from 10:30 AM to noon, beginning September 19, 2024, and ending May 29, 2025. This parent/guardian-and-child program features open gym playtime, story time, snacks, and crafts. Registration is required and must be completed in person at the center.
**Ultimate Frisbee (Ages 12-16)**
Magee Recreation Center is offering a free six-week Ultimate Frisbee program for kids aged 12 to 16. Scheduled on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, the program will run from April 30 through June 4, 2025. Participants will be coached on techniques, strategies, and game play in a supportive environment. Registration is required and can be done in person at the center.
**Youth Archery Program (Ages 10 and Up)**
From March 19 through April 23, 2025, the Youth Archery Program will take place every Wednesday from 5:45 to 6:45 PM. Open to children 10 and older, the program focuses on the fundamentals of archery, including learning about the parts of a bow, range safety, and proper shooting techniques. Registration is required at the center.
